Academic Department

The academics department is headed by  Christine Wambua who is the Dean of Studies. Other members of the department include:  

• Mr. Duke Atanasi- In charge of Exams 
• Mr. Felix Juma Omulo- Ass.Examination 
• Mr. Serem Elijah- ICT Officer 

The academics department has put the following strategies in place to help in improvement of our performance:

•  Students Performance Appraisal and Development (SPAD) which ensures that the  students are self-reliant. 
• Individualized Learner Programs (ILP) for the aspiring high achievers 
• Setting targets to compare termly performance with annual targets 
• Performance tracking for all the students  
• Feedback for examinations with clear timelines and results sent to parents via SMS

 In relation to academics, this year KCSE results were above average. The good performance is attributed to  the ever supporting administration and the ever ready and determined teachers as well as the support staff.  The school registered a mean of 6.05 which was a drop from the previous year’s mean of 6.184. Below are the summaries of 2019 and 2020 KCSE results. 

I take this opportunity to thank the entire St. Maria Goretti Rombo Girls’ fraternity for their continuous  support. I sincerely thank the Almighty God for giving us the energy and will to take the school a notch higher.
